New Neighbor Barometer

Ted & I have been pretty lucky with our neighbors since living in our house on Bear Lake.

Our former neighbor Ron sold our current house to Ted a little over 4 years ago and he’s been a good neighbor ever since. Our property line is very close and we’ve never had any problems. We typically end up merging lake parties together and despite our differences I rarely had anything to complain about (except for the occassional motorcycle rev before 8:00 AM on a weekend.)

Ron had his house on the market for over a year for a variety of reasons. He sold about a month ago to a new family. Since he moved out last week it’s been eerily quiet and Bonzo keeps trying to locate Sandy (Ron’s chihuahua.)

While Ted was on his man camping trip over the weekend, I met our new neighbors Rick & Marcy. You never know how you’re going to get along with the new guys and I was curious what they were going to be like. I have since breathed a sigh of relief - they are both very pleasant and I think we are going to get along great.

Tonight we watched the sunset together over a few beers, while Bonzo hung out with their dog Shelby and their parent’s mini-schnauzer Lola. We’re also already in cahoots on how to make this year’s Bear Lake Olympics V the best party ever! Rick owns Kiwi’s Pub and he assured me he knows how to have a good time.

Rick & Marcy have a crew of people helping them renovate - they’ve already demoed the majority of the interior and hope to have it rebuilt within the next month. I look forward to having them as neighbors!

Does anyone have any crazy neighbor stories?
